This trail is along the southern shore of Lough Gill and lies in the shadow of Killerry Mountain. Following forest road and forest track, it offers excellent views of Lough Gill, its islands and the surrounding countryside.

An absolute gem of a place, the boardwalk is a lovely peaceful setting and I will definitely be back again.

NOTE FROM TRAIL MANAGEMENT: Thanks for the review, I’m glad you liked Slishwood, this is one gem of many that Coillte manage along the Sligo Way. On your next visit I encourage you to travel west towards Union wood as we have improved access to Lough Lumman recently and the views across southern Sligo are spectacular. If you push yourself towards Ballysadare for a coffee and cake the walk back gives you a full day out on the trail.
