Part of this way, Shannon Way, Map 1. Ballybunion to Tullahennel is impassible.
With about 2.5 Km's to get toTullahennell, ( north of Kilcock ) it is blocked in a few places by overgrown briars and furze bushes. Stiles are also rotten in this area and are a danger to walkers.

Starting from Ballybunion reaching Knockanore the views are extensive of the Wild Atlantic Way the trail enters on the crown of the hill with the vista of the surrounding areas can only be described as Breath - Taking with the Monastic Scattery Island in the distance and the Shannon Estuary in full view this adds to the trail with wild flora and fauna in abundance.
The tranquility along this trail is so special and under foot the trail is within the natural area of focus. As this area is so special a Leave No Trace appliess on walking this section. From The Hill to the road no litter was observed. This made The Shannon Way special.
This trail is well worth walking for total enjoyment of our natural areas and viewing our wildlife. This is a great natural Amenity and worth walking. Danny Houlihan Wild Atlantic Way.
