Meeting oncoming cars on the road could be a problem. The alternative is to park in the village but this is a good 45min climb up the road. There are lovely views of Nenagh, Lough Derg, Silvermines and the surrounding area from the road and trailhead.
The loop is marked with purple arrows not red as stated. On the loop there are great views of nearby Keeper Hill and the countryside towards Limerick. On the return leg again the lovely views towards Lough Derg are back. The note about wet conditions is a bit understated, given Irish weather conditions, you need good waterproof boots as at least 1/4 of this walk is over boggy wet ground on the flat and down a firebreak. Calling it a trail on this part is a stretch of the imagination. Perhaps an alternative to this last leg should be considered. Apart from the issue stated, which takes a bit from the walk, on a bright day this is a great walk with beautiful views.
