Combined the Drum Loop with the Tower Loop. The Drum Loop follows minor lanes and hill tracks with a couple of peaty and squelchy bits across the hilltop but this is only for a couple of hundred yards.Good views over Glencolmcille. Look out for ancient carved crosses in and around the village. Two Megalithic tombs are accessible via a couple of gates off the lane a grid reference G 535855.

I had a great day walking both the Tower and Drum loops on Sunday 22nd July. However finding the start point was tricky. The lady in the tourist office did not know where to send me. I found that the information board is at the hostel about half a mile from the named start point of St. Columbas church and there is nothing at the church to indicate you are in the right place. Once I eventually figured things out the walk was beautiful. Small quiet country lanes, beach, short steep inclines, track and and well marked detours to make it a little longer.
It is worth noting that at the highest point of the Tower loop just where there is a juction with a track to the lst the marker is missing from the post. Go straight ahead at this point: DO NOT TURN LEFT.
All in all a good afternoon walk.
