Lovely walking and cycling trail. Spoiled by signage confusion. Notices at either end and a couple of posts along the way say that users should ‘keep left, pass right’. Painted icons of a bike are on the path at regular intervals on one side and ones of a pedestrian on the other side. This leads to total confusion with the result that many cyclists prefer to avoid the greenway altogether and use the busy and dangerous road instead.
The path is far too narrow to have separate cycling and walking signs.
This confusion would be easily eliminated by removing the painted icons and placing more prominent ‘keep left’ signs at both ends of the greenway.
