PARALYMPICS "Winning Embrace" Highlighted at the PPAI Awards

Sportsfile's Brian Lawless celebrated 3rd Prize in the Sports Action category at the recent Press Photographers Association of Ireland Awards (20.05.09)

The image entitled "2008 Winning Embrace" pictured Australia's Heath Francis congratulating second place Francis Kompaon, of Papua New Guinea, while keeping an eye on his time, after he won the Men's 100m-T46 Final at the Beijing Paralympic Games 2008.

Acknowledged by the judges as "A shared moment of exhilaration between two 100 metre Paralympic finalists, demonstrated in the time honoured way", the image is part of a collection of images taken throughout the Games..
