We started the walk after some confusion with the directional arrows. They were taking us around sports pitches which we quickly realised was not of interest to us. We happened to see a small sign screwed to a wall sending us on to the village main street from there we followed the path clockwise.
It was pleasant until we came to a block stile. The landowner clearly did not want folks accessing their land.
We decided to hop a fence which was difficult due to the barbed wire and resulted in an injury.
The devils bit is not viewable from this trail contrary to the sportireland website description. Some nice panoramic views to the north.
Overall dull and wouldn't recommend or visit again.

#Note from Trail Management: Sorry to hear you were lost on the trail, the waymarking issues will be rectified in the coming weeks.

Lovely little walk, easy going and for the most part well signposted, they disappear as you reach the non-existent picnic area, not a great loss. Great views both at the start and at the high point looking over to Devils Bit. As of this writing it appears the loop is closed to access, however this is only indicated at the end of the signed route and therefore we got to enjoy it regardless. My 7 year old really enjoyed the stroll especially the eating of blackberries.

I’m really sorry to report that this trail is very dangerous and should not be undertaken currently. Myself, my husband and two daughters decided to visit Moneygall today and undertake this trail. We parked at a beautiful activity park and set off following the first green sign which marked the trail. Unfortunately there was no indication to turn right to find the next trail signs to the church so we were lost before we even started. We eventually found our way and went off road over the first stile to begin our climb. The views were splendid however the ground is very uneven with lots of nettles and furze which are not walker friendly! We then came to the forest but met a large trench which extended the entire rest of the pathway and prevented us from completing our way. I got a very bad electric shock from the fence for which there was no warning signs visible. The walk trail should be closed while ground work is going on.

Really enjoyed this walk; even on a damp, grey day the views were fabulous. And all the stiles and gates have clearly had a lot of thought and work put into them. Well done to all involved in developing this trail!

However, we were slightly disappointed to find that the picnic area was fenced off with electric fence. I dare say, if we were determined, we could have got to it, but I'm fairly sure the farmers don't want their fences messed with? And I didn't particularly want to share my flask of tea with the herd of nosey cattle that had come over to chat to us. So, instead, we turned around and walked back down the track.
