Did it yesterday mid November 2019. Enjoyed it immensely. Trail is waymarked pretty well and the trail itself was in reasonable condition if a little wet underfoot. The views up top and winding down the pass were beautiful. Lots of history along the way with very old dwellings dotted along the old road. It's not difficult but a good 3.5 hour hike all the same.

Completed the trail in 3 hours and I'm not that fit. Spectacular views from the top across Lough Conn. The mountain trail is very boggy and you need proper boots and gaiters. Loads of wild goats on the mountainside but they see you long before you see them. Well worth a visit, picnic table at the top. As with all mountain bogs the weather can close in quickly but when it's clear there are great views. Trail is well signed.
