The review by Caoimhe from Cork is NOT a review of Oulart Hill-The Jean Kennedy Smith Walk in Wexford. Just want to clarify in case someone thinks they can do it with a buggy.

We did this walk today and I have to say it is lovely, we parked at the car park at top of the hill, but would recommend doing it from Oulart village car park opposite the church.

The views are marvellous, very well laid out and signed, a great job.

Very interesting as it takes you across a well laid out grass path, through some lovely woodland and back to village, we then walked back up to car at top of hill.

We had a lovely picnic in Oulart village on picnic tables with the November sun shining on us....!

We set out from the car park at the Western entrance of the Regional Park near Inniscarra Bridge. Plenty of parking when we were there but apparently it gets quite busy. There is also a skate park, picnic areas and 2 market traders there so you can see why it's popular. The path that we followed is tarred and well laid out so is perfect for buggies - also felt quite safe walking there alone with the buggy as there are lots of people about. The River walk is lovely - especially the Weir - and we even saw a Heron so I guess that's where the trail gets its name! The direction signs are obvious and easy to follow - especially if you're not too good with maps, like me! The return loop of this trail skirts alongside soccer pitches and has outdoor excercise machines (which I didn't use on this occassion!) Although our trip was more of a stroll than a walk, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We finished up with a juice drink and a lovely coffee and sat a while to watch the skaters. A great trail for moms or dads (or grandparents!) with buggies or small kids on bikes / skates. Looking forward to trying the Ash Trail next time.
