Amazing hiking trail. Clearly set out and marked with appropriate signage. Great views

A really great trail. The forest on the second half of the loop is stunning. On a bank holiday and we only saw people in the car park at start and didn't see a soul for next 4 hrs. (It's 3 and half hr walk easy going pace).
We heard wild goats and a saw a couple of deer bounce away on the track. Keep an eye for a footbridge by the river (with about 2km remaining) by an area of Scots Pine. There is a blossoming hawthorn by the stream and it is a special place.
However we had earlier heard a scrambler bike and they had been by this area as they left damaging tracks.

Really great walk. Fabulous views up into the Knockmealdowns. You really are away from it all with only the birds and the odd goat for company. Well marked and very good underfoot conditions. If coming from Cahir direction Ardfinnan is the last place to stock up on drinks and snacks as there's no shop in Goatenbridge. Took us about 2 hrs 30 mins with a stop at the monument along the way. Well worth taking in if you're in the area.
