This looped walk in Glenpatrick Woods ascends on forest roads and open country towards the coum of Lough Mohra which lies under the Knockanaffrin Ridge, with great views of the surrounding countryside, including the River Suir and Slievenamon. This is a lovely trail walk. I parked my car at the bottom of the forest trail, starting point, and ascended upwards through the forest, following the red arrow markers. The views of the valley below were fabulous, snow capped Knockanaffrin ridge loomed above me. I travelled over open ground until I came to Lough Mohra. The lake itself is down in the hollow so I climbed down, very easy, all soft ground. I had a picnic lunch beside the lake, which looked like an infinity pool that day, the water was so still and the horizon spread out for miles and miles. The whole walk took about 2 1/2 hours. I have visited Lough Mohra before but unfortunately the mist was too thick that day that I couldn't see the lake so this time I was delighted with the panoramic view.
