BASKETBALL Team Montonette Hotel Cork and DART Killester claim Super League National Cups

Team Montonette and DART Killester won the Women’s and Men’s Super League National Cups last weekend with hard earned victories over Bausch & Lomb Waterford Wildcats and Abrakebabra Tigers, Tralee.

Team Montennotte had been very much in the ascendancy in the early stages of the Final with a commanding 53- 38 lead during the second quarter.  Wildcats fought back valiantly to force Overtime but lost out eventually by a single point, 78-77, with Irish International Team Captain Michelle Fahy’s two free throws in the last ten seconds of the match.

DART Killester were crowned champions after a 82-74 win over Tralee Tigers. DART were in control for long periods apart for brief moment in the fourth and final quarter when they fell 52-50 in arrears. The Dublin Team regained the lead to finally win by an eight point margin 82-74.
