Beautiful walk through natural forest and hill. Did the green loop. It's very well signposted. Didn't see any mention of a Desmond castle, maybe it's on the blue loop? The historical references & info boards are very good. Would definitely recommend proper trekking boots. Poured rain on our walk and thus very muddy. The website description tells you the ascent is 170m but it neglects to mention that you'll do all of it in a very condensed, steep rise. Could be hard going if you're not so fit. Overall very enjoyable and certainly worth doing if you're within the vicinity.

Excellently laid out trail. A lot of "ups and downs" which can be challenging for novices. Could definitely do with more signposting on the routes

Lovely trail but signs are not great. More detailed signs showing how far along the route you are would be beneficial. Some parts had no sign and wasn't certain of much direction to go.

I did this walk a few months back and the signs are very bad. The trail is well marked at the start but going further into the forest there are no signs for certain loops or at least they were not there a few months back. Otherwise very nice walk.

Very nice walk. A lot of trees knocked after storm. Should have sign in place to warn people some of the trail is not currently accessible.

A very nice trail. Did it February 2nd. A great trail for photographs as well. Easy enough, but you do want to wear proper boots.

This is a great walk, particularly if you get a sunny day as the views to distant mountain ranges are excellent. It passes through very diverse landscape with interesting nuggets of historical information highlighted along the way. (Some steep ascents involved.) Really enjoyable!

Excellent walk and very interesting signs and information on local history along the way. Other trails should take note, this is how its done! Brilliant day out.
