The Irish Senior and U-15 Championships took place on Saturday & Sunday 7th & 8th February 2009 at the National Badminton Centre, Lisburn. Scott Evans and Chloe Magee retained their respective Singles National Titles with Chloe and Sam Magee winning the Mixed Doubles.

Senior Nationals

In the Mens Singles Final, Scott Evans Tony Stephenson 21-12, 21-12. Scott's path to the final included matches against Andrew McKee, Ronan McGee and Will O'Neill. Tony had wins against Brian Dignam, Conor Hickland and Alex Sim.
The Ladies Singles final of defending champion and Olympian, Chloe Magee against Sinead Chambers with Chloe coming out on top 21-15, 21-16. Paths to the final for both players - Chloe defeating Hannah Orr and Emma Calow, Sinead with wins against Ciara Pender and Ruth Roddis. The Ladies Doubles Finals was won by Keelin Fox and Sandra Lynch who defeated Emma Calow and Sinead Chambers in a close three set match 15-21, 21-19, 21-11. The Mens Doubles Finals of Matthew Gleave and Sam Magee against Alex Sim and Tony Stephenson in another three set final; 17-21, 21-13, 21-13. In the Mixed Doubles Final, defending champions Chloe and Sam Magee retained their title when they came out on top against Mark Topping and Keelin Fox 21-16, 21-13.

U-15 Nationals

Boys Singles: In the final, Joshua Magee and Jonathan Dolan battled out for National Honours with Joshua Magee winning the three set match 11-21, 21-11, 21-15. Girls Singles: Caroline Black defeated Clodagh Kent in the Final 21-11, 21-5. Girls Doubles: Clodagh Kent and Ciara Dunne won the final against Emma Greer and Laura Shannon 23-21, 21-12. Boys Doubles: Joshua Magee and Jonathan Dolan teamed up against Liam O'Leary and David Walsh in the Doubles Final winning 21-18, 21-19. Mixed Doubles: Jonathan Dolan and Caroline Black defeated Liam O'Leary and Laura Shannon in a three set final 21-13, 22-24, 21-13.
