EQUESTRIAN ISC welcome statement from Equestrian Federation of Ireland

John Treacy, Chief Executive of the Irish Sports Council, welcomed today’s statement by the President of the Equestrian Federation of Ireland, Ms Avril Doyle MEP on the implementation of the recommendations of the Connellan Report. 

Mr Treacy commented; “ The Council is happy with the progress made to date on the Connellan Report by the EFI and its affiliates over the last couple of year and welcomes the establishment of an implementation group. 

The Connellan Report laid out a definite roadmap for the modernisation of the EFI and the subsequent establishment of a new National Governing Body for horse sport in Ireland

The new umbrella body will play an important part in the strategies for success laid down by the Irish Sports Council”.
