Irelands Chris Sloan Has Won The 5th Dubai International Youth Open After A Tense Stepladder Finals
Chris has dedicated himself to reaching a certain leve lin the sport over the past two years and his hard work is clearly paying off as he continues to go from strength to strength.
Chris managed to make the Final match, after a tense semi-final against Juan Rafael Vargas of the Philipines, which saw Chris hold his nerve for a one pin victory.
In the final Chris won well, beating top seed Mustafa Al-Mouswai of Kuwait in the first 2 games of the best of 3 games final to capture the title.
Chris also qualified for the final rounds of the full Open section (all divisions–Youth, Adult, Senior), where he finishedin an impressive 12th place.
This brilliant performance adds to a number of top finishes from Chris on the European Bowling Tour (EBT) over the last twelve months, as well as an 11th place finish in the 2013 AMF Bowling World Cup in Russia, where Chris bowled two perfect 300 games.
Chris has also represented Ireland in two World Youth Championships, onein 2012 in Bankok and his second this year in Hong Kong, where he made the Masters finals and eventually finished in the top twenty.
The future is bright for Irish bowling, and Chris is leading the way with his outstanding performances around the world.
