CYCLING O’Loughlin 7th in World Cup in Beijing

David O’Loughlin finished an excellent 7th in the Individual Pursuit at this morning’s World Cup World Cup cycling event in Beijing. David broke the Irish record by over 5 seconds in the process.

David is a member of a five strong team competing in the second round of the UCI World Cup in the newly opened Olympic Veledrome in Beijing. The largest ever field for a World Cup with over 400 cyclists representing 70 teams chasing World Cup glory.

The members of the elite programme have been involved in an intensive training programme under guidance of ex British Cycling Track Coach, Simon Jones and Cycling Ireland Coach Tommy Evans.

The team is competing in the Individual Pursuit, Team PursuitPints and Scratch events.

Apart from David O Loughlin the other members of the team are Dermot Nally, Paul Healion, Martin Irvine and Brian Keneally.
