Irish Out Of Slovak Open
Irish juniors Rachael Darragh and Sara Boyle were the Irish in action at the 2014 Slovakian open today. Both girls aim to follow in Ireland's world No31 Chloe Magee foot steps. Darragh who is 17, won her opening round match against Sarina Kohlfurst of Austria.
This set up a last 16 match with the number three seed Anna Narel of Poland. Narel was much too experienced for Darragh as she beat her in straight games. Boyle who is also 17 faced Riikka Sinkko of Finland and this game was also a close encounter with the Sinkko winning in 4 games with close score lines in both the third and fourth games.
The last match up for the Irish was the women's doubles where they faced world No51 Steffi Annys and Flore Vandenhoucke of Belgium who were too strong for the Irish as they won the match comfortably to progress to the quarter finals.
