Paul Pollock Withdraws From Marathon
Paul Pollock (Annadale striders AC) has unfortunately had to pull out of the Marathon at the European Championships in Zurich which is on tomorrow at 8am (IRL) time. Pollock withdrawal is due to a hip injury which is leaving him unable to take to the start line tomorrow.
Ireland will be represented in the Marathon cup by Sean Hehir (Rathfarnham WSAF), Thomas Frazer (St. Malachy's AC) and Kevin Seaward (St Malachy's AC).
Other Irish athletes in action on the final day of the European Athletics Championships include Ciaran O'Lionaird (Leevale AC) and Paul Robinson (St Coca's AC) in the final of the 1500m at 2.05pm. The men's 4x400m will contest their final, a day after breaking the national record in the heats with a time of 3.03.57. The team for the final will be Brian Gregan, Mark English, Richard Morrissey and Thomas Barr which is due to take place at 2.42pm.
