Finals For Irish In Rio

Team Ireland are through to the finals of the mixed doubles and men singles of the 2014 Brazil Grand Prix.

The Irish number one mixed partnership of Sam and Chloe Magee were the first of the Irish to take a final spot. The brother and sister partnership beat Alex Yuwan Tjong and Lohaynny Vicente of Brazil in straight games. In tomorrows (Sunday) final they will face number one seeds Max Schwenger and Carla Nelte of Germany.

In the Men's singles Irish number one Scott Evans created a big upset by beating number one seed Henri Hurskainen of Sweden in straight games. Evans who is seed four will now face the winner of second seed Domke of Germany or three seed Guerrero of Cuba.

Men's doubles pairing of Sam and Josh Magee play last in the semi-finals against German opposition.
