Medal Guaranteed For Junior Cyclist In European Track Cycling Championships

Ireland's Josie Knight has finished the Junior Women's Individual Pursuit as the fastest qualifier at the European Track Cycling Championships for U23/Junior in Anadia, Portugal. The first year junior finished in a time of 2.29.467, which means that she meets Russia's Daria Egorova in the Gold Medal Ride Off. Knight is guaranteed a medal following her outstanding performance in the qualifiers. The gold medal final takes place tonight at approximately 7.10pm. This afternoon Ryan Mullen and Dylan Foley will also compete, racing in the U23 Individual Pursuit Qualifiers, an event in which Mullen won a Silver Medal last year.

The UEC European Track Championships U23/Junior takes place in Anadia from the 22-27 July.
