2014 Home International
The 2014 Home International will be held on 26th July 2014 at the National Rowing Centre, Cork.
The Home International (formerly known as the Home Countries) started in 1958 and is held between: England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The venues where they are held are as follows: Strathclyde, Scotland, Nottingham England, Cardiff Bay in Wales and The National Rowing Centre, Farran Woods, Cork.
The events contested have changed over the years to reflect the increase in participation in the sport and the greater emphasis on sculling. Now there are coxed and coxless fours, pairs, 3 sculling events, as well as lightweight events. Adaptive races have been also been added.
Rowing Ireland will send a team of 75 athletes and 8 coaches from Clubs all over the Country.
This year the event will be held at the National Rowing Centre, Farran Woods, Co. Cork and it is hoped that there will be a great turn out to support the crews, given that the event is on home turf.
