Ennis Wins Chatsworth Three Star On Irish Sport Horse

In a day of wins for Irish riders and horses, Meath's Sarah Ennis this afternoon claimed victory in the main three-star Dodson & Horrell Challenge at Chatsworth in England on an Irish Sport Horse, Stellor Rebound.

Holding fifth place after the dressage phase, Ennis climbed the rankings after show jumping and cross-country to finish first of a 60-strong field on the ten year-old bay gelding.

Ireland's Eventing High Performance Manager Nick Turner said after the Irish victory: "Sarah was up against a very strong field, but her performances in all three phases was top class, and Stellor Rebound is certainly a very exciting horse for the future."

In the second section of the three-star event, Britain's Mark Todd won the class with another Irish Sport Horse, Amacuzzi, who was previously competed by racehorse trainer Stuart Crawford.

In Carriage Driving, Ireland's Barry Capstick won the international Horse Pairs competition at the Royal Windsor Show in England today, while the Irish Sport Horse Dougie Douglas took victory in the three-star show jumping Grand Prix at Odense in Denmark, ridden by Britain's Holly Gilliot.
