"Enda had an exceptional ride this afternoon in the Kilo TT. He delivered a great performance setting a blistering PB, taking almost three seconds off his previous best, setting the new national record with a time of 1.10.936. Colin also got a new national record in his kilo, a great performance after his phenomenal ride in the Pursuit, where he won silver."

Summing up the team's campaign, Cycling Ireland Head Coach Brian Nugent said:
"That was a great team performance and a critical marker on our progression towards Rio. We have made many changes in the team since London and this was the first major test of those changes. Considering this was the first World Track Championships for a lot of the team this makes the result even more encouraging, having secured valuable points towards Rio Qualification. We now have a benchmark of where we are against our competitors halfway through this cycle. It's great to see our senior members of our squad, such as Colin Lynch, leading the way. Team Coach, Neill Delahaye, has done a fantastic job in his new role, and has inspired this team to continue to perform to new levels."

This concluded the racing at the UCI Paracycling Track World Championships, where the team come home with a silver medal and seven new national records. With the long-term focus being on the Paralympic Games, this World Championship Campaign has placed the Irish team on the right track on the road to Rio.
