Italian Open 2013

In the Mens singles event Irish number Scott Evans beat German Patrick Kaemnitz in his opening round before meeting Indra Bagus Ade Chandra of Italy in the last 16 where he lost out in a close two set match 22-20 22-20.

In the Womens Singles event  Irish number one Chloe Magee booked a place in the quarter final by beating Ayla Huser of Switzerland and followed this up with a last 16 win over European Junior Medalist Delphine Lansac of France. In the quarter final she will face World number 16 Carolina Marin of Spain who is the number one seed for the event.

In the Mixed Doubles event Irish number one pairing of Sam and Chloe Magee progressed to the quarter final by beating Vasily Kuznetsov and Viktoriia Vorobeva of Russia and then in the last 16 beating Trikusuma Wardhana of Indonesia and his partner Karoliine Hoim of Estonia. In the quarter final the Irish duo will come up against Jonathan Nordh & Emelie Lennartsson of Sweden.

In the Mens Doubles event the new partnership of Jonathan Dolan and Sam Magee which has been going from strength to strength face Mathias Bonny of Switzerland and Stilian Makarski of Bulgaria tonight.
