Level 2 Coach Course

18 Nov 2013

The weekend saw 8 coaches go through the TI Level 2 coaching
course led by lead tutor Eamonn Tilley in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

The 2 day session was the first step to achieving the level
2 qualification certified by Coaching Ireland. The second part of the course
will take place on the 7th and 8th of December with
coaches then needing to complete 20+ hours of hands of coaching along with
holding all the relevant first aid, ISC anti doping 'Real Winner/WADA Coach True' and child protection clearance before receiving
their level 2 coaching certificates.

“By all accounts the participants enjoyed sharing information
and learning from each other in order to develop their coaching knowledge and
skills and become better coaches.” Commented lead coach Eamonn Tilley.

TI CEO Chris Kitchen, a Level 3 qualified coach dropped into
the workshop to join in the discussions. “We’re in the process of developing a
Coach Development and continuous professional development program for coaches
in Ireland. It’s great to see so many new coaches coming through the courses
and these level 2 coaches will soon be leading club sessions, coaching our talented
junior squad and academy athletes and generally passing on their knowledge.”
