Process
for Selecting NS & NC Races

To be a part of the Vodafone National Series or
National Championships, races submitted applications to TI back in October.  We received
an overwhelming response with more than 40 high quality events submitting applications.

Along with the applications we receive
there are a number of other criteria that is looked at.  These include
such things as:

  • Geography
  • Time in the season
  • Only 1 NS race on a
    weekend
  • Ratio of
    Sprint/Standard/Middle Distance Races
  • Any outstanding fees
    due to TI
  • Number of competitors the
    race is able to take
  • Technical Official
    report from previous race
  • Facilities such as
showers, change rooms, parking, post race meals, etc
  • Prompt payment of race
fees in 2013 and return of documentation & race results to TI for NS calculation

Vodafone National Series Format

One of the major themes of feedback from
the regional meetings and other reviews was that there were too many races in
the Vodafone National Series and that there is a desire for a change with more head to
head racing.  We have taken this feedback on board and will endeavour to
focus more thought and consultation on this in 2014 with a view to implementing
in 2015.  Reducing the Vodafone National
Series from 20+ races to 16 is a first step.

Competitors will be required to complete 2 sprint, 2
standard and 1 other (sprint, standard or middle) distance race with full details
of the points calculation system confirm by December 31st 2013.
