Irish Exit in Quarter Finals

Irish number one men singles player Scott Evans who was seeded 12 in this event took on Kwong Beng Chan of Malaysia in the quarter finals. Evans failed to find the form that helped him beat World number 33 Pawar of India in the last 16 as he lost out in two sets 21-17 21-13.

Chloe Magee lost out in the quarter final of the Bitburger Grand prix Gold Number to one seed Nichaon Jindapon of Thailand who is World ranked 18. Magee started the match well but failed to capitalise on her early lead losing the opening set 21-17. The second set started in favour of the Thailand number one with Magee trailing at the mid game interval. Magee once again clawed back into the game at 13-13 but again Jindapon pulled away to seal a 21-17 victory and a place in the semi-final.
