Four titles for Ireland

Ireland took four titles at the Irish u19 European Circuit event in Dublin Sunday.

The day kicked off with an All Irish Mixed doubles final with Belfast's Stewart and Smith beating Matthew Lightbody also Belfast and Moya Ryan from Ennis, 21-11 21-16.

Next up was a another All Ireland final, a repeat of the 2012 final, with both girls victorious over Mexican opponents in the semi-final. This year Belfast's Alannah Stephenson took victory in three games over Rachel Darragh 21-11 19-21 21-8.

The third final was the men's singles. Mexican Garrido Ramon proved too fast and strong for Austrian Wolfgang Gnedt taking the match 14-21 21-9 21-12.

The men's doubles, another All Irish affair saw Dublin/Wexford combination Brady and Murphy defeated Matthew and Ross Lightbody 23-21 21-13.

The final event was the ladies doubles, with underdogs Boyle and Darragh from Dublin and Donegal respectively defeating Belfast's Stephenson and Smith 21-19 15-21 21-19.
