TENNIS Bowtell, the youngest Irish player ever in Federation Cup

Amy Bowtell, aged 14, will become the youngest player ever to represent Ireland in the Federation Cup. Amy is also the first player from the Tennis Ireland National Academy at DCU to receive senior representative honours. She is currently ranked 56 in Europe at u/16 and 636 in the World at U/18.

Amy was selected along with Anne Mall as replacements for Emma Murphy and Rachael Dillon who have withdrawn from the team. Anne last represented Ireland in the Federation Cup in 2005. The full Irish team is: Kelly Liggan, Yvonne Doyle, Ann Mall and Amy Bowtell. Garry Cahill is the non-playing captain. 

Ireland won all 4 matches in Group 111 in Mauritius in 2007 gaining promotion to Group 11 in 2008
