Murphy Leads Irish Team Competing at Celtic Tri-Nations

Barry Murphy will lead an 18 strong team of swimmers at the Celtic Tri Nations Meet this weekend. The annual event pits top swimmers from Ireland, Scotland and Wales against each other with the 3 Nations all vying for the Celtic Tri Nations Championship Title. The event will be hosted by Scotland in 2013 running from the 10th - 12th May.

Dubliner Murphy, fresh from Irish Nationals at the end of April will be looking to meet the World Championships qualification time of 1:00.86 in the 100m Breaststroke at the event. Following impressive performances in Dublin just two weeks ago, where he swam a season's best of 1:01.35, Murphy will have a last chance in Scotland to meet the time.

Aer Lingus swimmer Andrew Meegan who also showed impressive form at Irish Nationals, breaking the 1500m and 800m Irish Freestyle Records where he qualified for the World University Games in Kazan in July, will swim the same events in Scotland

The impressive team boasts Irish Record holders in Bethany Carson (100m Butterfly), Jane Roberts (50, 100m Back Junior) and Curtis Coulter (50m, 100m Free Junior).
