Badminton Ireland announce new sponsorship deal with Carlton

Badminton Ireland has announced a new and exclusive sponsorship deal with sports brand Carlton. The launch of the Carlton deal coincided with the annual U13 and U17 National Championships taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of March at Baldoyle Badminton Centre in Dublin.


As one of Europe's leading Badminton suppliers Carlton sponsor some of the world's best Badminton players including British Olympic silver medallist Nathan Robertson and Irish number one Scott Evans.


Carlton pride itself in its extensive approach to manufacturing badminton equipment that delivers scientifically validated improvements to a player's game. Badminton Ireland's contract with Carlton will be centred around its new and improved feather and synthetic shuttle designed to produce more accuracy and control. The shuttle will also be used by Badminton Ireland's 15,000 members.


Members of Badminton Ireland will also soon get the chance to be kitted out with the latest Carlton products and will be able to benefit from a wide range of discounts Carlton has to offer. Carlton products can be found throughout Ireland at one of Badminton Ireland's preferred retailers or the new Badminton Ireland eShop from which members can gain great discounts on Carlton products.


"Tender process which started in October after a deal ended with a previous company led us to Carlton," explains CEO of Badminton Ireland, Richard Vaughan.
"Carlton bring a quality shuttle and international brand to badminton in Ireland. It is a quality company and it is a six times better deal for Badminton Ireland compared to the previous deal."


The sports brand, which supports badminton events such as the National Championships and the Irish Open, will also be the chief sponsor of Badminton Ireland's national teams, coaching staff and numerous projects taking place over the next two years.

On court at the National Junior Championships the contenders for the boys U13 crown Kyle Magee, Adam McAllister, Brian O'Mahony and Tomas Howard all made it through their opening rounds.


Defending girls U13 champion Clodagh Dunne will have to fight off competition from Beth Stephenson and Rachael and Rebecca Woods in order to defend her title.


The main attraction in the boys U17 category are Satchal Madden, Norman Lau, Ryan Getty, Curtis Presho and Ross Lightbody. Alannah Stephenson, Rachael Darragh, Rebecca Getty and Fionnuala McCourt complete a strong field in the U17 girls' competition.
