MAKE EVERY STEP COUNT!!

Kellogg’s All-Bran Launches Joint Initiative “Count the Steps to Feeling Great” with The Irish Sports Council

Today, Wednesday 10th May - In a bid to encourage people to put their ‘best foot’ forward and get active as the summer approaches, Kellogg’s All-Bran has launched “Count the Steps To Feeling Great” pedometer promotion, in association with The Irish Sports Council. The promotion highlights the importance of taking a few extra steps to a healthier more active life-style, with pedometers being given away free across the entire Kellogg’s All-Bran range.

As the warm weather and brighter evenings loom with the onset of the summer, pedometers offer an excellent way to count your steps as you walk, encouraging you not only to get active but also to count how many steps you are achieving as you do. Being aware of how much you are walking is a genuine incentive to walk even more!

Getting active can help you feel better about yourself – both on the inside and out.  Walking can also improve your general health and fitness level, it can be done alone, with children or older family members and it costs nothing - all you need is a good pair of walking shoes, comfortable clothing, the Kellogg’s All-Bran pedometer and you are set!

Welcoming the launch of the Kellogg’s All Bran pedometer, John Treacy, CEO, The Irish Sports Council commented, “The Irish Sports Council wants to encourage everybody to get active and try at least to take one hours exercise a day. Walking is the most popular participation sport and the Kellogg’s All-Bran pedometer will encourage people to get active and get walking.”

Commenting on the launch of ‘Count the Steps To Feeling Great’ pedometer promotion, Bernadette Donoghue, Kellogg’s All-Bran Senior Brand Manager, said, “Combining good diet with physical activity is the recipe for a healthy life.  Walking has become an extremely popular way to exercise for across all age groups and with the Kellogg’s All-Bran pedometer people can independently challenge themselves to become increasingly more active over a period of time. There is a genuine sense of achievement associated with clocking up steps on your pedometer and in addition knowing how much activity you are doing acts as an incentive for you to become more active. Research has also indicated that people like challenging themselves to new regimes which are good for them.”

Customers can avail of this free pedometer by collecting 2 tokens on packs of the entire Kellogg’s All-Bran range, including the new range of Kellogg’s All-Bran bars, no postal costs required. Alternatively customers can register for a free pedometer online at www.kelloggs.ie with the pack code number.
