PARTICIPATION Announcement of the appointment of Myles Sweeney as DSP Coordinator
Donegal Sports Partnership (DSP) wish to announce the appointment of Myles Sweeney to the position as Coordinator on a one year fixed contract to replace Michael McGeehin who has been appointed on an interim basis to the position of Director of the National Coaching and Training Centre, Limerick.
Myles brings a wealth of experience to the post having formerly been employed with Co Donegal Vocational Education Committee in the Committee's Administrative Offices in Letterkenny since 1984. During his employment Myles has been based in Student Support, Youth and Sport and the Adult Education sections of the Committee’s Administrative Offices in Letterkenny. He has been actively involved in the management of the Vocational Education Committee’s Cross Border Sports Development including Youth Sport Foyle, Lifelong Learning through Sport and the Laureus Sport for Good Programmes. For a period from 1998 to 2003 he was also Manager of Forbairt na Rosann Teo, a Community Development Company based in Dungloe.
Myles is keen sportsman having been actively involved in Gaelic football, soccer, athletics and boxing as a participant, coach and an administrator. He has also represented Donegal Gaelic Football Teams at Minor, U21 and Senior level and has won numerous awards with the Dungloe GAA Club.
Myles joins Donegal Sports Partnership at the end of May as Coordinator as it reviews the effectiveness of the initial Donegal Sports Partnership Strategic Plan 2002 to 2004 and develops a new Strategic Plan for 2006 to 2010.
