Splaine Names Team for Fridays St. Gallen Nations Cup

Team Ireland's show jumping manager Robert Splaine has now announced the four horse and rider combinations who will make up the Irish team at the third leg of the Superleague Nations' Cup series due to take place at St. Gallen in Switzerland on Friday afternoon.

Three of the team will be the same as in Rome's Nations' Cup last week.

Ireland has been drawn in a favourable position of eighth to jump, and will line out as follows:

Shane Sweetnam/Amaretto Darco
Jessica Kurten/Voss
Cian O'Connor/Blue Loyd
Billy Twomey/Je t'Aime Flamenco

The competition begins at 1.45pm Irish time and the drawn order of teams is:

1) The Netherlands
2) Germany
3) Switzerland
4) Belgium
5) France
6) Great Britain
7) Sweden
8) Ireland

Belgium, winners at the opening round at La Baule earlier this month, continue to head the FEI Nations Cup leaderboard, but with only a single-point advantage over Germany in second place.
