Great Mental Strength Shown by Murphy on Day 2 Laser Radial Worlds

17 May 2012

In Germany at the Laser Radial World Championships, Annalise Murphy had a triumphant second day on the water. She finished 1st and 2nd in her two races which puts her at 27th overall. Racing continues until Saturday with the top 10 progressing to the medal race on Sunday.

The newest additions to the Providence Resources ISA Sailing Team, Ger Owens and Scott Flanigan continued racing today at the 470 World Championships in Barcelona. It was a tricky day for the pair with unstable winds across the course. They placed 20th and 24th in their two races leaving them 22nd overall.

Racing was postponed today at the Finn World Championships due to fluctuating winds. Event organisers will be under pressure to run three races tomorrow before the final fleet race and medal race on Friday. Ross Hamilton still has an outside chance of qualifying for the Olympics. At 49th overall, he is currently the 10th nation eligible with the top 6 claiming a spot at the Games.
