Irish Senior Cup Hockey Quarter Finals

After a 5 month break the Irish Senior Cup returns this weekend. By Saturday evening four teams in both codes will be through to the semi-finals and will be one step closer to winning the coveted Irish Senior cup. First off let's take a look at the men's side of the draw.


In Park Avenue Railway Union will hope home advantage swings it in their favour as they play host to Glennane. Over in Comber Road Lisnagarvey who are no strangers to lifting this cup will take on 2008 & 2009 champions Pembroke Wanderers in a rematch of last weekend's Irish Hockey League game which finished all square at 3-3 a piece. Down south Cork Harlequins welcome Banbridge to Harlequin Park while the final game of the men's quarter finals is up in Stormont where 2004 champions Instonians travel to NICS.


Over to the ladies Irish Senior cup. Recent EuroHockey Club Trophy Champions Pegasus will travel to take on UCD who come into the quarter finals on the back of a 4-2 win over Catholic Institute in the last round. 2010 champions Loreto travel up the road to face Old Alex while in Ardmore Armagh play host to Railway Union. The final game in the Electric Ireland Irish Senior Cup quarter finals sees Dublin University (Trinity) welcome Queens University to Weston.
