Ireland lost their final game against Belgium this afternoon in Valencia in an evenly contested match. Both sides had equal opportunites for goal scoring in the first half but it remained 0-0 at half time.

In the second half Belgium came out stronger and opened the scoring in the 50th minute when Briels scrambled home a goal in front of the net. Ireland added to the pressure in the final ten minutes with three penalty corners but failed to convert.
