Bus Eireann Womens National League set for big kick-off

With all clubs eyeing up the opportunity of representing Ireland in the UEFA Women's Champions League 2012/13, all will be keen to get off the best possible start. It's a Dublin derby for Shamrock Rovers as they host Raheny United in Tallaght Stadium. Meanwhile, Castlebar Celtic make the long trip south for their opening fixture against Wexford in Ferrycarrig Park. Peamount United fresh from their Champions league exploits, having experience European campaign will be eager to make a quick return next year. First they must overcome the challenge of Cork Women's FC in Cork Institute of Technology. All games will kick off at 2pm in their respective grounds.


FAI League Director, Fran Gavin said, "This league marks a new era for women's football in Ireland. For the first time, the Bus ةireann Women's National League will bring together our best players, coaches and officials to a national stage as we build a platform for women's football to thrive at home. This league will be given the same focus and priority as the Airtricity League and we will apply the same principles of competition, integrity and fairness across the board to every club involved."
