RTE Coverage of 2011 AIBA World Championships

RTE will show a special programme on the 2011 AIBA World Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Baku, Azerbaijanfrom 5pm to 6pm today on RTE2.

The programme will feature, at least, the quarter-finals of newly qualified 2012 Olympians Darren O'Neill, John Joe Nevin and Michael Conlon.

Con Murphy will present. Jimmy Magee is the commentator. The analysts in studio will be by former Irish Elite champions Bernard Dunne and Mick Dowling.

Marty Morrissey will present a special report from Baku on all the Irish who have qualified for the Olympics.

O'Neill, Nevin, who claimed a bronze medal at the 2009 AIBA World Championships in Milan, and Conlon qualified for the London Olympics following thrilling wins yesterday.

The Irish triowill be involved in quarter-final bouts today trying to add at least a bronze medal each to their tickets for the 30th Olympiad.
