MOTOR SPORT Ordnance Survey Ireland International Rally of the Lakes

The Wexford-Waterford combination of Eamonn Boland and Damien Morrissey coasted to a comfortable win in the Ordnance Survey International Rally of the lakes in Killarney over the may bank Holiday weekend.

Boland’s task was made easier on Sunday when his two nearest rivals Gareth McHale and Donie O’Sullivan crashed out. This resulted in him having an unassailable lead over 2nd placed Dessie McGarrity.

Boland’s victory has given him a clear lead in the Global Group Irish Tarmac Championship.
