BOWLS Irish Glory at European Championships

Bol Chumann’s Senior Mean and Women performed magnificently in the road bowling disciplines at the European Bowling Championships held in Cork over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

David Murphy and Kelly Mallon are the new European Road Bowling Champions bridging a gap of twenty and twenty four years since the last Irish victory. These were undoubtedly the highlights of the weekend from an Irish point of view.

The Irish men occupied the first nine finishers and convincingly won the Team title. The women occupied the first three places and had five in the top ten. This was also good enough to win the team title.
