Irish Successes at ISAF World Cup Regatta in Holland

30 May 2011

Irish sailors had a successful week at the Delta Lloys ISAF World Cup regatta in Holland.

In the Star Class, Peter O'leary and David Burrows finished 4th overall with a best finish of 2nd in the 7th race..

In the 49Er, Ryan Seaton and Matthe McGovern finished 5th overall including a 1st place in the last race of the series.

In the Laser Radial, Annalise Murphy rounded off her week as she started it, with a win, bringing to five her tally of first places taken at the masive Dutch regatta. In spite of her wins there was never any hope of a medal due to a double false start on Friday, a costly race infringement that clearly cost the 21-year old this round of ISAF's World Cup series. She finished the regatta ninth overall having won the final three races in near gale force conditions.

These sailors benifit from Irish Sports Council support for the Irish Sailing Association High Performance Programme.
