Let's celebrate! Ten years of women, from six to sixty, surfing together. The anniversary event will include FREE surf lessons, barbecue, music, art and lots more.


The Irish Surfing Association will be celebrating its tenth annual women's surfing weekend, Wet and Wild Water Women, in Enniscrone, Co Sligo on the 7/8 May. The event brings women of all ages and surfing abilities together in a celebration of women's surfing in Ireland.Wet and Wild Water Women is a surfing weekend that provides women with an opportunity to meet and share information and advice on surfing while introducing newcomers to the sport in an all female environment.


This year's event will kick off with a Surf Art Exhibition by Easkey Britton at 8pm on Friday 6th May at the Ocean Sands Hotel. Activities on Saturday 7th May commence at 11am with surfing and bodyboard coaching throughout the day until 6pm. If you have never surfed before, are just starting off or hoping to improve your skills we will have instructors on hand to guide you. All equipment will be provided. Once you have work up a good appetite in the waves you can come ashore to enjoy our lunchtime beach barbecue. Surf Chixxx will be playing at the Ocean Sands Hotel from 9pm on Saturday night. On Sunday 8th there will be surfing and bodyboard coaching from 11am to 4pm.


The event is free and participants do not need to book, just turn up and you will be catered for. Wet and Wild Water Women is hosted under the Women in Sport Initiative run by the Irish Sports Council to encourage more Irish women to participate in sport.
