First Group of London 2012 Team Managers Announced (paralympics)

Paralympics Ireland announced the first group of Team Managers for the 2012 Irish Paralympic Team during the Renault Ireland Team 2012 Training Camp. held in Limerick last weekend. The appointments to the team included:

  • James Nolan from Offaly as Athletics Team Manager
  • Paul Cassin from Coolock in Dublin as Football 7-a-Side Team Manager
  • Denis Toomey from Blackrock, Cork, as Cycling Team Manager
  • Dave Malone from Ballinteer in Dublin as Swimming Team Manager
  • Limerick's Joe Cunningham as Rowing Team Manager


The newly appointed team managers are currently busy preparing their respective teams at the Renault Ireland Team 2012 Training Camp in Limerick with the exception of Dave Malone who is heading the Irish Swim Team at the British Disability Swimming Championships in Shefflied.


Speaking at todays announcement Cycling Team Manager Denis Toomey said "I am delighted to be selected for another games and look forward to seeing the Irish athletes on the podium in London"


Liam Harbison CEO of Paralympics Ireland added "We are delighted to confirm the first group of team managers for London 2012 and look forward to seeing the success these highly talented and experienced managers can bring to their sports at the Games."
