IRISH SPORTS COUNCIL Consultant Required

The ISC would like to recruit consultancy services to assist the Strategic Planning Group of the Irish Amateur Boxing Association with the assistance of the Irish Sports Council. The group is comprised of 2 representatives from both the ISC and the IABA with an independent Chairman.


The following terms of reference have been agreed for this group;

The Strategic Planning Group, to prepare a five year plan for the IABA under the following headings;

  1. Development of Amateur Boxing.
  2. Organisation / Structure
  3. Funding / Supports
  4. Promotion of Boxing / Communications
  5. Physical Infrastructure


It was agreed that the Report would be issued at the end of a six month period.


The person will be required for a period of 6 months commencing at the beginning of October 2010 and attendance at monthly meetings will also be required. Experience of conducting strategic sports reviews is essential.

The role will include:

  • collating all the information received by way of written submission,
  • to facilitate at least four regional workshops,
  • to collate and analyse the data from them,
  • to research best practice in organizations of a similar size in Ireland and Internationally,
  • to assist the group in any other matters as the group may require.


The person will also be required to act as Secretary to the group and to write the final report and recommendations.
