Ryan Burnett wins Gold Medal

Ryan Burnett has won Olympic Gold for Ireland in the men's light flyweight defeating Salman Alizada of Azerbaijan 13-6 in the Youth Olympic Games final in Singapore. This is Ireland's firat ever Youth Olympic Gold medal.

Burnett's Olympic Team mates were there to support him all the way.

Coach Jim Moore was delighted , "he's a very talented young boxer, he was superb today against a guy who hes lost to narrowly in the past two occassions. Ryan comprehensively out boxed Salman today"

Burnett said "I stuck to the plan agreed with my coaches (Jim Moore and Jimmy Payne) and it paid off , I'm so thrilled to have a Gold medal and to have made history here for our Olympic Team"
