Athletics: English through to 1000m final, posted: August 18, 2010

Mark English qualified from heat two of the boys 1000m at the Bishan Athletics Stadium this morning .

English's heat was the fastest of the two qualification heats with Mohamed Geleto from Ethiopia winning in a time of 2:24:40 . English was 6th fastest overall with a time of 2:25:39.

Charlie Grice of the Britain won the first heat in a time of 2:24:74

Hockey: Ireland lose to New Zealand

Ireland narrowly lost 3-2 to New Zealand in their second game. Having come from behind twice Ireland conceded te winning goal two minutes from time. Ireland's next game is against Argentina on Thursday.
