IRISH HEART FOUNDATION Walking Leader Training

Walking Leader Training is primarily aimed at people wishing to lead a walking group or promote walking in the community or workplace. The course comprises of a weekend of training and then a follow up 4 week walking programme to try out your new walking leader skills.


Cost:

The Irish Heart Foundation are subsidising the Walking Leader Training weekend and there is a nominal cost of €50 for the 2 and a half day non- residential course and a cost of €100 for the residential course. The Non Residential course fee includes training, course materials, pedometer, 2 lunches and tea/coffee breaks throughout the weekend.

The Residential course fee includes training, course materials, pedometer, two nights shared accommodation, breakfast, lunch and tea/coffee breaks (evening meals not included). Accommodation is twin sharing. All weekend courses start at 7.30pm on Friday evening and finish on Sunday afternoon (please see timetable below).


4 Week Walking Challenge Programme (Course Follow up):

Once participants complete the Walking Leader Course they will be set a challenge of leading a 4 week walking programme within their community to put their training to work. You will be provided with a log book to record your progress for the challenge
