BATON TWIRLING Irish successes at World Championships

The Irish team participated recently with distinction at the recent World Baton Twirling Federation International Cup Competition in Australia.

Twelve countries including the USA, Canada, Japan and Australia competed in three divisions, B, A and Elite. All the Irish athletes competed in the A divisions. Competition levels were very high with a preliminary and final round. Ireland won gold in the Adult Mens, a silver in Adult Pairs and a bronze in the Junior Pairs.

Bernadette Doyne, President of Baton Twirling Association of Ireland( BTSAI) said" While the athletes worked hard and made personal sacrafices to achieve these results, we could not have reached these levels without the continued support of the Irish Sports Council."
